Sensor Signal Processing for Defence (SSPD) 2017
SSPD 2017 aims to bring together researchers from academia, industry and government organisations interested in Signal Processing for Defence.
Championed by Professor Rahim Tafazolli and Dr. Konstantinos Nikitopoulos from the University of Surrey, this free 1 day event will be based at Surrey's Institute for Communications Systems (ICS), home of the 5G Innovation Centre.
The Fifth Joint Workshop on Hands-free Speech Communication and Microphone Arrays will be held on March 1-3, 2017 at the Google Offices in downtown San Francisco, California. The workshop is devoted to presenting recent advances in distant-talking speech communication and human/machine interaction with an emphasis on multi-microphone systems. It will bring together researchers and practitioners from universities and industry working in distant speech and speaker recognition, speech enhancement, high-quality sound capture, and multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) acoustic signal processing. Demonstrations of experimental systems, applications, and prototypes are especially welcome.
Date: 1st - 3rd March 2017
Location: San Francisco
This workshop relates to the proposed creation of a UK Future Networks Research Centre (FNRC) as an independent national research and innovation centre supporting the discovery and development of novel fixed and wireless networking technologies.
Date: 7th March 2017

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, USA
For 2017, the IEEE Radar Conference returns west after eight years and arrives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for the first time. The conference timing coincides with the centennial anniversary of incorporation of Boeing; our theme, “Building on a Century of Innovation,” unites the past and future. Looking back, we highlight seminal radar developments including the co-invention of Pulse Doppler Radar, advances in civil aviation, and the world’s first digitally-processed Synthetic Aperture Radar image from space. Looking forward, we envision an exciting week of exploring the latest developments in research, development and deployment of radar systems for applications from local indoor monitoring to spaceborne remote sensing.
Date: 8th - 12th May 2017
Location: Seattle, USA
In the tradition of the bi-annual PCL Focus Days you are invited to submit a contribution. It will be two day event bringing together armed forces, research institutes, and industries.
