Dr Mehrdad Yaghoobi

Work Package 1 (E_WP1)

Dr Mehrdad Yaghoobi received his PhD from the University of Edinburgh on Signal Processing with an emphasis on sparse signal processing and learning.

He was a researcher in the Institute for Digital Communications since 2010, where he is now a Lecturer on Signal and Image Processing. He has served as a reviewer for many international journals and been a technical committee member of some IEEE conferences. The outcomes of his research has been licensed for evaluation and commercial uses in industry. His current theoretical research interests include low-dimensional signal modelling and learning, compressed sensing and phase disrupted sensing. He is also interested in various applications in biomedical and defence signal processing, imaging systems and low-complexity sampling, e.g. spectral sensing and processing, Synthetic Aperture Radar and medical imaging.
