Research Associate - Work Package 2 (E_WP2)

Dr Murat Uney is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Digital Communications (IDCOM), University of Edinburgh, since June 2013. Prior to joining IDCOM, he was with Heriot-Watt University where he investigated multi-sensor fusion problems through the University Defence Research Centre, Phase 1 project. He implemented the proposed algorithms for an on-line demonstration in a maritime environment, in collaboration with BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre and University College London. Between 2007 and 2010, he was a member of the Signal Processing and Information Systems Laboratory, Sabanci University, Istanbul, where he performed research on distributed estimation under resource constraints. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2009. His research interests are in the broad scope of signal and information processing with emphases on statistical paradigms in distributed and multimodal problem settings and machine learning.
