PhD Student - Work Package 3 (E_WP3)

Puneet Chhabra is a Graduate Research Assistant with the Edinburgh Consortium under the University Defence Research Collaboration (UDRC) since 2013. Prior to this he worked as a Higher Scientist at BAE Systems Advance Technology Centre. At BAE Systems his work was primarily focussed on Sensor Perception for Autonomous Vehicles: Roll Over and Safety and Video Analytics. For this work he received an innovation award in 2010-2011. He received his BSc in AI and Robotics from MIIT, India in 2007 and an Erasmus Mundus MSc in Computer Vision and Robotics with the ViBOT program (http://www.vibot.org) in 2009 respectively.

His research aims to support work packages (WP3 and WP4) by investigating two scenarios: first, land based multi-sensor multi-vehicle; and second, aerial vehicle reconnaissance. He will also focus on developing algorithms to support information capture using LiDAR and software for 3D point cloud management.
