Professor Sangarapillai Lambothoran

Professor Sangarapillai Lambotharan received the Ph.D. degree in signal processing from Imperial College London, UK, in 1997. He was with Imperial College until 1999 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. In 1996, he was a Visiting Scientist within the Engineering and Theory Centre, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. From 1999 to 2002, he was with the Motorola Applied Research Group, UK, as a Research Engineer, and investigated various projects, including physical-link layer modelling and performance characterization of GPRS, EGPRS, and UTRAN. From 2002 to 2007, he was with the King’s College London, London, UK, and Cardiff University, Wales, UK, as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer, respectively. In September 2007, he joined the Advanced Signal Processing Group, Loughborough University, Leicestershire, UK, as a Reader, and was promoted to Professor of Digital Communications in September 2011. His current research interests include application of game theory and convex optimization techniques to wireless networks, smart grids, data mining and MIMO radars. He has published more than 150 conference and journal articles in these areas. He serves as an Associate Editor for the EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking.
