To ensure that participants are equipped to apply this work to practical solutions, the course will be delivered through traditional lectures and tutorials on set exercises supervised by leading experts in the field.

Objectives
The objectives of the Summer School are to:
- Fill a gap in knowledge for signal processing engineering research students and industrial practitioners.
- Facilitate the process of taking new theoretical developments into practical engineering applications.
- Create a focal point for research in Signal Processing for Defence
- Stimulate new collaborations in this field.
Please bring with you a laptop which you will need for tutorials on Tuesday and Wednesday. For the Mathworks Tutorial you will need to ensure you have Chrome downloaded to access their cloud based services.
There will also be ample opportunity to network at the UDRC-EUROSIP Summer School social events. This year the Summer School Dinner will take place at the Bridge Inn restaurant, transport will be provided. We will also welcome you to a whisky tasting evening where you can sample and learn more about the Scottish national drink.
Accommodation
Large study bedrooms will cost £60 per night and will include a contimental breakfast. Located in one of the newest halls of residence, the rooms are serviced daily and will have an en-suite shower and toilet. The accommodation is configured into flats of 5 rooms and internet access is available. The rooms do not have TVs, clock radios or hairdryers and there is no access to a kitchen facility, however there is tea/coffee making facilities and access to a (non-exclusive) common room.
Check-In and Check Out
Check in times are between 15.00 and 20.00 on day of arrival unless by prior arrangement.
Check out time is by 10.00 on the day of departure.
Check-in will be via the University Main Reception from 1500hrs. On arrival guests will be provided with a pack which will have their key, bespoke map directing them to their residence, information on how to operate the bedroom lock, location and times for breakfast, opening hours for on-site catering outlets/general store and Wi-Fi login instructions.
Reception will be open until 2200hrs, After this time there will be a note at the main reception for you to contact security and their number and they will come out and give you the keys. Reception can be contacted on 0131 451 3501 or frontdesk@hw.ac.uk
There is a limited catering facilities at Heriot-watt during the summer term in the evenings, however, please note that there is a restaurant and bar facility in the Marriott Courtyard Hotel on campus and there are regular buses into the city centre.

Limited car parking is available on campus, visitors may use either car park A,B, H, J and I.
